What is different about Least Cost Telecoms broadband?
Broadband speed is dependent on a number of factors:
- Contention ratio; normally 50:1 or 100:1 we guarantee
you a maximum of 20:1
- Upload speed as well as download speed; we offer
2 levels, 24MAX at 1.3 Mb or 24MAX PLUS at 2.5Mb
- The distance to the local exchange – if you are
2km from the exchange your bandwidth will typically
be around 15MB. If you are currently on a “Max Service”,
we would expect our 24MAX packages to double your
download speeds and improve your upload speed by 5
to 10 times.
- The quality of your connection plus environmental
factors - we use ADSL2.

just 28 days notice and that’s it.
We are able to offer this service through the process
of Local Loop Unbundling, whereby we purchase equipment
and locate it in the local BT exchange and then use their
cable to connect to you.
What do I need to switch 24MB broadband?
You
must have a BT phone line to your premises and you need
to live in an area where the exchange has been ’enabled’.
There are over 600 of these with more being added each
week. You then have to complete an LCT service agreement
with a direct debit mandate and you’re finished.

- 24MAX PLUS with 2.5Mb upload speed for £50
a month
- First 100 customers can choose a fully configured,
leased
router and one off connection fee for just
£60
